Carl Paladino has launched a new ad pledging to shrink the state government by 20% if he is elected.

He says he will review all government agencies for efficiency – but he already has some ideas. One he suggests in a press release is folding the New York State Thruway Authority and some Bridge and Tunnel Authorities into the Department of Transportation.

Paladino goes on to say that these measures will allow him to cut taxes by 10% in the first 6 months he is in office. The message isn’t a new one from the Paladino campaign. He has alleged that he is the only candidate who will actually cut taxes, and has repeatedly said and have skirted the issue by only saying they will not raise taxes.

Here are links to Cuomo and Lazio websites if you want to read what they have to say about taxes and spending.

Paladino will appear on the show this evening for an extended interview. YNN and NY1 had scheduled a debate with Paladino and Lazio for today, but the Lazio campaign refused to accept sighting scheduling problems. So, we are going to ask Paladino some of the debate questions we had prepared for today.
