The numbers crunchers at the Empire Center have released an update to their legislative spending database, showing that the Republican-led Senate and Democratic-controlled Assembly combined have spent $102 million in the last six-month reporting period that ended in March.

The database, SeeThroughNY, shows that the highest-spending state senator is Long Isand Republican Ken Lavalle, who spent $510,598. Assemblyman Richard Gottfried was the highest in his chamber $488,359.

The reporting period does not include the $103,000 confidential settlement made to legislative staffers who accused Assemblyman Vito Lopez of sexual harassment.

But the reporting period does cover $424,237 in total payments by the Assembly and Senate for what was billed as legal services.
