I haven’t yet received this, but found it on Politics of the Hudson (thanks, Jon Campbell!).

It’s the 312-page written version of the speech Gov. Andrew Cuomo is about to deliver in the Empire State Plaza Convention Center.

Cuomo will be speaking largely off the cuff, with a PowerPoint presentation as a guide, so we don’t have a verbatim version of his actual speech.

The written version tends to be a lot more detailed, and will include things the governor doesn’t actually mention out loud.

As Jon notes, Cuomo is calling for closing loopholes in the state’s ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines as well as a proposal to require background checks for all gun sales – even if they are private.

We’re also getting word that a gun control deal could be formally announced after the speech is done. A source says key players have been asked for supportive statements of the sort that are usually included in press releases.

It’s worth noting that Mayor Bloomberg, an outspoken gun control advocate who is working with the White House on its ongoing efforts to get a deal at the national level, is in the audience today.
