Arbitrator Ruling Increases Pay for Resorts World Casino Workers
While a great deal of attention is being focused on the casino expansion amendment, there was a separate casino-related development that happened today.
An arbitrator issued a ruling which nearly doubles wages for workers at Genting’s Resorts World Casino in New York City. This is a big win for the Hotel Trades Council union, which had been in a dispute with Genting for a year.
The Hotel Trades Council’s statewide political director Josh Gold joined us from New York City to talk about this deal and what it means for the larger casino debate.
