It was a decision that sent a red flag up for public employees across the country. Last week, a federal judge ruled that in the case of the city of Detroit’s bankruptcy, public pensions could be used in negotiations.

In other words, these retirement payments, which were constitutionally guaranteed, are now on the table.

This has public employees unions in New York concerned.

The president of Public Employees Federation, Susan Kent, joined us to give her take on this.
