Businessman and TV personality Donald Trump will be the featured guest for an Onondaga County Republican fundraiser next month, local chairman Tom Dadey on Monday announced.

Tickets, along with a photo opportunity, run as high as $500.

Trump, of course, has been mentioned as a potential Republican candidate for governor, but is yet to commit to a race.

Last week Michael Caputo, the western New York political operative who has talked up Trump’s candidacy, urged him to not run considering the establishment support has been lining up behind Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino.

Regardless of Trump’s intent, he has been a major draw for county Republican chairs holding fundraisers.

He appeared earlier this month at an Erie County Republican reception, as well as a Manhattan GOP fundraiser.

“I am thrilled to announce that the Donald Trump has agreed to come to Syracuse and headline an event for Onondaga County Republican Committee,” Dadey said in a statement. “Donald Trump is an entrepreneur, business leader and television personality – the three qualities needed to beat Andrew Cuomo in November but more importantly they are needed to turn around New York State. It is not secret that New York has been hemorrhaging jobs and losing families to other states because Andrew Cuomo would rather worry about his next election instead of worrying about a recent college graduate who can’t find a job. We need a bold leader who will take on the status quo and get New York back on track – and Donald Trump has all of the right qualities to do just that.”
