Comptroller Tom DiNapoli will deliver the Democratic rebuttal at this year’s annual LCA Show, the long-running political gridiron event that will be held Tuesday, June 10 at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany..

“We’re thrilled that Comptroller DiNapoli has elected to take part in a Capitol tradition that stretches back more than a century,” said LCA President Jimmy Vielkind. “We’ve been assured that no taxpayer money will be used for the resulting hilarity.”

DiNapoli should have plenty of material this year to work with in his routine (as will reporters, for that matter).

“This is a great honor,” DiNapoli said. “It is sort of like getting left with the check or being the only one picked for a public financing pilot designed to crash.”

Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino, the GOP candidate for governor, is due to give the Republican response at the show.

No word yet if Gov. Andrew Cuomo will attend, though he has done a walk-through in previous years.
