Senate GOP Leader Dean Skelos does not believe Republican Sen. Greg Ball will run for another term in the Hudson Valley district.

“I don’t not believe he will run again,” Skelos told reporters at the state Republican convention.

Skelos downplayed Ball’s potential exit, saying the lawmaker had set term limits for himself.

Ball is expected to announce on Friday his plans for his political future.

Ball has previously said he will not seek the Putnam County executive post later this year in a primary against fellow Republican Mary Ellen Odell.

Ball has long been considered an unpredictable maverick in the Senate and Assembly.

However, as a state senator, he has more or less been a good soldier for the GOP conference.

Skelos noted that not everything goes as expected with Ball, leaving the door open to him running again.

Democrat Justin Wagner is again seeking the seat in the district, which includes parts of Westchester and Putnam counties.

Skelos said he was confident the GOP could hold the Senate seat.
