An ad from the state Democratic Committee that began to air this week accuses Republican gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino of making patronage hires in Westchester County.

Meanwhile, Astorino’s campaign released a video that claims Gov. Andrew Cuomo used funds earmarked for Hurricane Sandy relief aid to promote himself.

The Democratic ad is the latest to be unleashed knocking Astorino, accusing him of “shelling out raises” to preferred county employees.

“Petty, corrupt politics,” ad’s narrator says.

Astorino’s video accuses Cuomo of using ads highlighting Sandy relief efforts as a vehicle to promote the governor — an allegation that Cuomo’s office says is false considering the money was meant to highlight tourism post recovery.
