Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the last day received more than $50,000 in contributions, including donations from a wealthy hedge fund manager and a Republican former Nassau County executive.

Daniel Loeb, a hedge-fund manager who helped fuel the push for same-sex marriage legalization in New York and the chairman of Success Academy, contributed $41,000 to Cuomo’s re-election campaign.

Tom Gulotta, the Nassau County executive from 1987 through 2001, gave Cuomo $10,000 through his political action committee, Board of Elections records show. Gulotta’s administration became embroiled in a corruption scandal, with his top deputy admitting to receiving more than $150,000 in bribes in a health-insurance scheme.

All told, Cuomo’s re-election campaign reported $53,500 so far today.
