UPDATED at 3:58 p.m. An employee for the state Council on the Arts has been suspended after being kicked off a Delta flight about to take off from JFK International Airport to Syracuse.  Hammondsport mother Marisa Rundell told Daily Mail the woman repeatedly used profanity and complained about having to sit next to her crying baby.

The council said the employee in question is Program Director Susan Peirez.

“State employees are and must be held to the highest standard both professionally and personally. We were notified of this situation and have commenced an investigation. This employee has been removed from the office and placed on leave until further notice and until the inquiry is resolved,” Director of Public Information Ronni Reich said.

It appears at the beginning of recorded footage of the scene, Peirez claims to “work for the governor.”  Later she asks for the flight attendant’s name and tells her she “may not have a job tomorrow.”

After Peirez makes the threat, the flight attendant tells someone off camera she wants her off the flight. Peirez quickly apologizes and says she was really stressed out.

According to Daily Mail, the flight was on February 6th. The footage circulated over social media and several news outlets over the last few days, including Fox News.
