New York state is launching an advertising campaign aimed at raising awareness for addiction services in the state, Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office on Wednesday announced.

“This administration is committed to using every tool we have to combat this opioid epidemic and help New Yorkers in need,” Cuomo said. “New York proudly leads the fight against this public health crisis and this campaign will further our efforts to provide support, aid recovery, and take one more step toward a stronger, healthier Empire State.”

The campaign is due to include radio ads, TV spots and social media. It will run on statewide TV and radio in both English and Spanish and be featured on billboards.

The general theme is a focus on addicts who feel they are battling their problems alone, highlighting the support available from friends, family and professionals.
