The gubernatorial campaign of Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro on Wednesday announced a half dozen county Republican committee chairs had flipped to endorsing his candidacy.

The endorsements include GOP chairmen from Broome, Oneida, Madison, Delaware, Chenango and Jefferson counties.

“Marc Molinaro is a dynamic leader who can get New York State turned around after years of corruption from Andrew Cuomo,” said Broome County Chairman Bijoy Datta. “Upstate New York will turn out huge for Molinaro for Governor and deliver a big win for Republicans this November.”

Molinaro’s campaign says he now has nearly 75 percent of the weighted vote to become the preferred candidate of the state GOP committee.

Republican state Sen. John DeFrancisco, however, remains in the hunt for the nomination as well. Incumbent Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo is seeking a third term.
