Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney’s bid for New York attorney general on Thursday was endorsed by two of his high-profile Democratic colleagues in Congress: Reps. Beto O’Rourke and Joe Kennedy III.

“I’m proud to have the backing of Beto and Joe,” said Maloney. “These guys are real progressive leaders and they’re leading the democratic rallying cry nationwide. I’ve been fighting alongside them in Congress, and now I’m ready to carry our shared values to the office of the New York State Attorney General.”

O’Rourke is running for the U.S. Senate seat in Texas held by Republican Ted Cruz. Kennedy this week cruised to his primary victory in Massachusetts.

Both lawmakers appeared in a video released by Maloney’s campaign touting the endorsement.

Maloney is in a four-way primary for the Democratic nomination, facing Leecia Eve, New York City Public Advocate Letitia James and Zephyr Teachout.
