Former President Barack Obama on Monday endorsed 11 Democratic candidates in New York for the state Senate and House of Representatives.

The endorsements are a second round of nods from Obama and come after New York’s twin primaries for federal office in June and state posts on Sept. 13.

Obama endorsed Democrats Max Rose, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Dana Balter, who are vying for seats in New York City and the Syracuse area.

In the state Senate, Obama gave his nod to Democrats Louis D’Amaro, Jim Gaughran, John Brooks, James Skoufis, Karen Smythe, Jen Metzger, John Mannion and Rachel May.

Republicans in New York narrowly control the state Senate with the aid of Democrat Simcha Felder, a Brooklyn lawmaker who conferences with the Senate GOP.
