Here’s some early – and very rough – video from Senate Majority Leader Pedro Espada Jr.’s defiant press conference this afternoon, during which he slammed AG Andrew Cuomo’s lawsuit against him, saying it is full of “lies and falsehoods.”

This comes compliments of Capital Tonight’s Kaitlyn Ross. She also Tweeted from the event, which took place outside the Senate chamber and included visuals.

Apparently, Espada accused Cuomo of denying his housekeeper “her legal right to counsel,” and claimed the AG wanted the 2009 Senate coup because he thought it would undermine Gov. David Paterson’s plans to run this fall (David Johnson and the Times took care of that).
