The Central Brooklyn Independent Democrats became the latest New York City-based political club this week to not endorse Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s re-election, the group announced in an email on Friday.

The CBID’s executive committee endorsed the remaining slate of incumbent Democrats including Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and Comptroller Tom DiNapoli as well as Assemblyman James Brennan.

The club’s email reported that 23 votes were cast in favor of Cuomo, while 23 were cast for “no endorsement.”

As Azi at Capital New York reported previously, Assemblyman Keith Wright, then acting in his capacity as the Democratic Party’s state chairman, had sought to shore up support for the governor’s re-election among political clubs in the city, but failed to sway the Village Independent Democrats.

The news today comes as Zephyr Teachout, a Fordham law professor, is seeking the labor-backed Working Families Party ballot line.
