A trio of upstate mayors called on the state to address income inequality at a forum yesterday sponsored by the Schuyler Center for Analysis and Advocacy. The New York’s Cities discussion looked at the differences between urban areas with high levels of poverty and their more well-off suburban neighbors. Child poverty levels are particularly high in parts of the state. And the center has called for treating the situation as a public health matter. The Schuyler Center’s Kate Breslin joined us to talk more about this.
