From our colleagues at Time Warner Cable News in Buffalo:

A multi-agency investigation is underway involving three Western New York political figures, including former Erie County Democratic Party Chairman Steve Pigeon, according to sources.

The New York State Attorney General’s Office, State Police and the FBI executed search warrants at multiple locations Thursday afternoon, including Pigeon’s home, as well as the homes of former Buffalo First Deputy Mayor Steve Casey and Christopher Grant, the chief of staff to U.S. Representative Chris Collins.

Information on what investigators were looking for wasn’t available. No one has been arrested.

Pigeon’s attorney, Dennis Vacco, said that this was a state search warrant, and the FBI is assisting the AG’s Office.

Vacco also said he’s disappointed with how the search warrant was executed, and that he has offered full cooperation to the lead prosecutors, who he has been in contact with.
