The New York Republican Committee on Monday released a web ad that urges voters to send Gov. Andrew Cuomo “a message” on Election Day and vote for GOP candidates.

The web ad dovetails with the arrests of former top Cuomo administration official Joe Percoco as well as a range of developers and Alain Kaloyeros, the head of SUNY Polytechnic, in a wide-reaching bribery and kickback corruption cases.

The ad suggests voting for Republican candidates will help clean up Albany, even though Cuomo himself is not on the ballot this year. He runs for re-election in 2018.

Corruption in Albany has been a bipartisan problem, with Republican former Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos being ousted from power following his own conviction, which he is appealing.
