womenfortrumpLess than two hours after a 2005 recording of Donald Trump boasting about groping a married woman was posted online, the New York Republican Committee blasted out an invitation to a “Women For Trump” rally in suburban Albany on Wednesday.

The previously scheduled event is to be headlined by Republican Senate candidate Wendy Long and Lara Trump, the wife of Trump son Eric.

On the video, Trump is heard bragging about groping a woman who had rejected his advances, saying “I moved on her like a bitch.” Trump is also heard suggesting that as a “star they let you do it. You can do anything … Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.”

The Trump campaign released a statement in the wake of the report:

“This was locker room banter, a private conversation that took place many years ago. Bill Clinton has said far worse to me on the golf course—not even close. I apologize if anyone was offended.”
