Former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke Jr. will appear at a fundraiser for the Erie County Republican Committee next month. According to an invitation from the committee, Clarke will be a special guest for the Stars and Stripes Gala at the Seneca Niagara Casino on November 3.

Sometimes called “America’s Sheriff” or the “People’s Sheriff,” he was a vocal supporter for President Donald Trump during the 2016 campaign. Last month, he joined the president’s Super PAC, American First Action, as a senior adviser.

Earlier this year, Clarke reportedly said he had accepted a Department of Homeland Security job with the administration but later withdrew his name from consideration. He is also a regular contributor on cable networks, particularly Fox News.

GOP Chairman Nick Langworthy said the committee reached out to Clarke who was happy to help out. Langworthy believes the weekend before the general election, he can help galvanize the party.

“A lot of people want to hear what he has to say. He certainly has a large following because of his cable news opportunities and surrogate work for the president,” he said.

Tickets for the evening reception are $150 per person or $1,950 per table.
