Jumaane Williams, the New York City councilman running against Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul in a Democratic primary, was arrested on Monday evening protesting President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nomination.

Williams was arrested outside Trump Tower in Manhattan, less than an hour after Trump announced he would nominate Judge Brett Kavanaugh to replace the retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy on the court.

Williams was arrested along with a half-dozen other demonstrators protesting the nomination. He was previously arrested in 2017 protesting Trump’s inauguration.
