In Video, James Points To Record Of ‘Standing Up’
Democratic attorney general candidate Letitia James on Thursday released a digital ad that highlights her record in public life and “speaking truth to power.”
“All throughout my 20 year history that body work is really about standing up, fighting back and challenging powers — speaking truth to power and never saying no,” James says in the video posted to her Twitter account.
She also talks about her time at Howard University and the institution’s role in the civil rights movement.
James, the New York City public advocate, has frequently highlighted her independence in her public appearances when asked about the backing she’s received from the state’s Democratic establishment, including Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
James is in a four-way primary on Sept. 13, facing Leecia Eve, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney and Zephyr Teachout.
