The National Republican Congressional Committee will begin next week a $300,000 advertising blitz in the 22nd congressional district, according to a source familiar with the ad buy.

The NRCC is bolstering Rep. Claudia Tenney, a first term GOP lawmaker, who faces a competitive race in against Democratic Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi this November.

The ad purchase is set to include broadcast, cable, radio and digital spending, the source said. The two-week campaign will begin next Tuesday.

Brindisi has outraised Tenney for much of the year and a $300,000 ad purchase can go far in a district with two relatively small media markets, Binghamton and Utica.

President Donald Trump traveled to the district last week to headline a fundraiser for Tenney at a hotel in Utica. Trump handily won the district two years ago.

Tenney, a former member of the Assembly herself, won a three-way race in the district in 2016.

The district stretches from the Mohawk Valley to the Southern Tier.
