The state Democratic Committee on Wednesday released a digital ad boosting the re-election of incumbent Democratic Sen. John Brooks alongside Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

The ad is part of a targeted $2 million effort backed by the Cuomo-controlled state committee in effort to flip the Senate to Democratic control.

Brooks, seeking a second term to what has been a Republican district, is considered a potential pickup for Republicans in an otherwise competitive election year for the GOP.

“This election, with Washington Republicans relentlessly attacking New Yorkers’ rights and values, everything is at stake,” Cuomo said in a statement.

“That’s why it’s critical we fight to elect proven leader John Brooks to the State Senate to continue protecting the progress New York has achieved. This November is not about red and blue, it’s black and white and we need a Democratic Senate and John Brooks in Albany to protect Long Island values.”

Brooks faces Republican Jeff Pravato in November.
